Nice To Meet You

Meet the Writer

Welcome to the digital home of some of my carefully selected thought-jots, articles, and a link to view my most recently published book on Amazon, 'The Alchemy of Becoming.'

I've also started a small blog and hope that you'll feel free to dive into each day's topic with me. While I've walked the many walks of both life and career, at 42 years old I can at last declare, at least for the moment (wink), that my first and true love has always been to write. It is my art, and I'm truly grateful to live in a time that has allowed me to be able to recall years back, when Phonics and cursive writing, even spelling bees, were still in our grade school curriculums; I also recall when the entire universe exploded in a meteor shower of limitless information, though it hasn't stopped for a single second and seems to cause more questions than answers.

All In all, It's been such a wild, beautiful, and messy ride for my generation, and though all are welcome to explore this page, I must admit that my heart goes out, just as the dandelion breaking the pavement goes out towards the sun, to my fellow women out there, trying their best to muddle their ways through this mad, mad world of ours.

But please, whoever you are, know that I bow to you in respect to your inner sacredness, and invite you to take a dive with me into unspoken territories. Let's gather our courage and get some healing done as we hold on tight to each other.

Dear reader,

Beneath the weight of life’s trials, just as immense pressures sculpt diamonds out of coal, so too do our experiences come to refine us into who we’re meant to one day become.

The wisdom that arises from hardship is a treasure not easily earned. It’s the reward that comes from relentless endurance. Like the coal cradled deep in the earth that will one day become diamonds, we find our clarity and brilliance through the sheer force of life’s trials and tribulations.

It feels as though my life is inhabited by a mysterious, relentless, protective force that from time to time will emerge to sustain me for some unknown mission. Death has brushed close against me twice now in my life, and each time it has, it’s turned me around with great force to face down another path. I feel connected to this unfathomable depth that before now I had been too afraid to explore. I call this depth God, though others call it by many names.

Eventually, we’re all eventually called to confront our deepest hopes and long-standing fears so that we might come to better articulate the profound mystery we all find ourselves swimming in. Through my own journey, I’ve come to recognize the complexity of who I am as well as who I’m constantly becoming. You see, moving forward without denying any aspect of the human condition is, I believe, a true hallmark of strength.

All crises evoke in us the universal instinct to survive as well as a shared set of tools, such as trust, empathy, compassion, and surrender, that are meant to be used as aids in our life’s sculpting. This book is simply one viewpoint in a sea of infinite viewpoints. Thank you for walking this part of my journey with me, and may blessings abound in your life.

With all my love,

Katherine
